Date: Tuesday evening, September 29, 2009. Time: The meeting was opened at 7:05PM by our clubs president Mitchell Jones. President's Report: Mitchell Jones opened the meeting by passing out a printed agenda and acknowledged that in the following club meetings, the 5 club officials will sit at one table positioned in the front of the room along with the Youth Director, Mr. Edgarton, while addressing the membership. Each official will be prepared to discuss all the issues and responsibilities that pertain to his or her position at each meeting. If the official cannot make the meeting, then a written statement prepared by the official will be read during his/her time slot, by the club president. Club Attendees: Club members attending this September meeting were; Mitchell Jones, Ryan Friscia, Dustin Robinson, Raymond Bentz, Jake Drabot, Billy Easterly, Trevor Parker, Guy Crump, Jr., and Coty Atkinson. Club members with excellent attendance records will be funded accordingly at years end. Secretary’s Report: Matthew Mitchell was not present at the meeting, so Mitchell Jones read the minutes of the last meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Dustin Robinson, the motion was seconded by Trevor Parker and the minutes were accepted and passed as read. Treasurer’s Report: Club Treasurer, Dustin Robinson reported on the individual checks that were written out along with the club deposits. He stated that after our deposit, our treasury had a total of $566.50 in the bank. Dustin also reported that club member Billy Easterly's father purchased candy bars at the cost of $39.30, sold them at his work place and raised a total of $82.00. He donated the net-proceeds of $42.70 to the treasury of the Good Ole Boys Junior Bassmasters. After the report was read, a motion to accept the report was made by Jake Drabot, the motion was seconded by Guy Crump, Jr., and the Treasurers report was accepted and passed as read. Tournament Director’s Report: Our Tournament Director, Ryan Friscia discussed the 2010 tournament year by announcing that the fishing schedule be reduced to 3 bass boat tournaments for the proposed dates of May 22nd, June 12th and June 29th, 2010. The 3 New York State Junior BASS Federation tournaments have yet to be announced, but should be projected for the July and August timeframe. The final 2 tournaments for 2010 will once again be tournaments that will be scored for the 2011 tournament and are tentatively scheduled for Saturday September 18th and October 9, 2010. The above schedule at this time is only a guide that will be subject to changes and must be reviewed and approved by our Youth Director Mr. Edgarton and the entire membership. After the report was read, a motion to accept the report was made by Dustin Robinson, the motion was seconded by Mitchell Jones and the Tournament Directors report was accepted and passed as read. Youth Director’s Report: Jeff Edgarton was not present at the meeting due to prior commitments. Sr. Club Advisor, Dom Maio discussed that the club membership fees for 2010 have been raised to $45.00 due to the $10.00 increase imposed by National BASS. Mr. Maio asked that all club fees be brought to the October or November meetings so that Mr. Edgarton can submit the fees to BASS no later than December 1st, 2009, to insure that every club member is covered by insurance and will also be eligible to compete in the 3 NYS Jr. BASS Federation Tournaments for 2010. Dom Maio also briefly discussed a Fund Raising program that will allow us to raffle off an autographed rowing oar, given to us by Wal-Mart specifically as a fund-raiser. Mr. Edgarton will have all the details at the next meeting. Club Advisor, Vern Robinson also brought up the proposed date of Sunday, January 24, 2010 as the date of our annual club banquet at the Fire Station. Time is again, 6PM. Mr. Robinson will check into the availability of the hall and will report back at the next meeting. Club President, Mitchell Jones announced that ELECTIONS of officers must take place before the end of the year in preparation for BASS and for the year 2010. All officers wishing to hold their position must state so at the October meeting. The position of Club Secretary is open as our current officer will not be seeking re-election. All nominations must be in place at our October meeting and elections must be held and finalized in our November meeting with the new 2010 roster submitted with a check to BASS in December. Mitchell Jones stated that discussions will take place before we meet in October with members of the Fund Raising & Sponsors Committees to see whether or not these committees should be allowed to continue. Mitchell also stated that the club will not have a club meeting in the month of December, because once again, it's too close to Christmas. Mitchell also mentioned that the agendas for each meeting will be emailed to members prior to the meetings so that they can come to the meetings prepared to discuss the issues. A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Guy Crump, Jr., the motion was seconded by Billy Easterly. Meeting adjourned: 8:10PM. |
