June 6, 2009 - Onondaga Lake (7AM to 12noon)

At 6:15AM, in the early morning light, the G.O.B. Juniors and the G.O.B. senior club boaters arrived at the Onondaga County Park launch site and began dropping their boats into the water .

Our on-land support team found out that overall, fishing for any species on Onondaga Lake was tough!  We asked the general public as they retuned to the launch how well they did and they claimed they never even got a bite.  We counted at least 6 boats that came back empty handed with each boat having at least two people in their boats.

Even our Minnows, who started out using worms & poppers, fishing for sunnies and crappies became discouraged and finally decided to try different lures hoping for some action.

Impersonating Mike Iaconelli didn't seem to help one of our Minnows either as the pan fish refused to be coaxed into biting.

Our senior boaters began arriving at the Onondaga Lake ramp and proceeded to load their boats on their trailers at about 11:50 AM with our Junior and Junior-Pro anglers aboard, one by one...

... by one ...

... by one ... all with almost the same disappointing results.

The final paper-weigh-in however determined that Mitchell Jones landed a 17 3/4" and a 15 1/4" bass to lead the Junior-Pros with Ryan Friscia boating one 14" bass to finish second.  The balance of the Juniors and Junior-Pro's failed to boat a legal bass.  The 2009 results to date will be posted under the "Angler Standings" link.

Some of the Club anglers however did remain to pose for a photo and appeared to be happy with the outing and their time on the water, even though the results bordered around "ya should have been here last week" and maybe what could have been.

The LAST Club Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday night, June 16th, at Oneida Lake from 6PM until 9PM.
