Youth Director’s Report:  Jeff Edgarton reported that BASS has unfortunately decided to eliminate CastingKids competition for the future due to the struggling economic conditions but strongly encouraged the individual clubs and Federation Nation to continue the program.

Jeff also had door prizes at the meeting that were awarded to our members.  Trevor Parker and Coty Atkinson each won a left-handed baitcasting reel that was donated by our senior club member, Paul Hudson.

Jeff noted that we had a few new members at the meeting.

Jeff also explained how we obtained our tournament fishing shirts, and asked that members continue to bring in monies collected from the bottle and can drives.  Jeff also discussed the 3 NY State tournaments for 2009, including the Junior/Partners tournament, and that this is the only tourney where the junior pays the full entry fee and Jeff also mentioned why its necessary to compensate the boaters with money for fuel, insurance etc. for all the other tournaments,

Jeff also mentioned that all club members need to complete and turn-in their Medical forms for 2009 and that he will bring in the necessary paperwork at the next meeting.

BOATER SAFETY COURSE was discussed and everyone 10 year old or older must be certified as early as possible in 2009.

Fund-Raising Committee:  Jeff asked for new fund raising ideas for 2009 and the need behind the funds.

Vern Robinson has a “Fund-Raising” board that will be shown at each meeting.  This board will highlight which members are participating in community programs and contributing dollars.  This board will show who is eligible to receive money towards their fishing entry fees for 2009.

Sponsorship Committee:  Jeff asked members to consider volunteering for this committee.  Club sponsors and their donations are needed and we need some new club members to join Ryan Friscia and Dustin Robinson so this group can go out and solicit local businesses in the area.

Meeting adjourned:  8PM.
