Date: Tuesday evening, April 28, 2009. Time: The meeting was opened at 7:08PM by our clubs president Mitchell Jones. President's Report: Mitchell Jones opened the meeting by introducing his club officers & support staff. Secretary’s Report: Matthew Mitchell reported on the minutes of the March meeting. After the minutes were read, a motion to accept the minutes was made, the motion was seconded and the minutes were accepted as read. Treasurer’s Report: Dustin Robinson reported that the bottle & can drive originally scheduled in the Brewerton neighborhood was cancelled due to severe weather conditions. Dustin also stated that our treasury had a total of $1,993.97 in the bank. After the treasurers report was read, a motion to accept the report was made, the motion was seconded and the treasurers report was accepted as read. Tournament Director’s Report: Our TD, Ryan Friscia reported that our members had G.O.B. club tournaments on Saturday, May 9th from 7:00AM til noon on Oneida Lake launching from Oneida Shores County Park and Tuesday night, May 19th from 6PM until 9PM on Onondaga Lake launching from the Yacht Club marina area. Ryan also emphasized that tournament fees had to be paid up in order to fish on a boat. The balance of the Tournament schedule is as follows; INNER-CLUB SCHEDULE: Saturday, June 6, 2009 (boat-paper) at Onondaga Lake from 7AM until 12AM. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 (boat-paper) at Oneida Lake from 6PM until 9PM.
FEDERATION SCHEDULE: Club Team Championship on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Onondaga Park (Lake Park Marina) from 6AM until 1PM. World Federation Qualifier on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Oneida Lake (Oneida Shores) from 6AM until 1PM. Junior/Partners Tournament on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Oneida Lake (Oneida Shores) from 6AM until 1PM. After the tournament directors report was read, a motion to accept the report was made, the motion was seconded and the tournament directors report was accepted as read. Youth Director’s Report: Jeff Edgarton asked that members continue to bring in monies collected from the bottle and can drives. Jeff also discussed the 3 NY State tournaments for 2009, including the Junior/Partners tournament, and that this is the only tourney where the junior pays the full entry fee. Jeff also reminded everyone of the upcoming parade and the members who committed from our club to participate in the Saturday, July 11th 100 year anniversary for the Fire Station. We will be forming at 5PM. BOATER SAFETY COURSE was discussed and Dom Maio re-emphasized that everyone 10 year old or older must be certified as early as possible in 2009. 501(c) (3) Public Charities & Non-Profit Status was approved by the IRS on April 16th for our G.O.B. Junior Club. This means our members can now request grants from major organizations and this status will allow them to write off their contributions. All gifts, donations etc, to our junior club will also be eligible for the IRS tax write-off. Fund-Raising Committee: Dustin Robinson was named as the spokesperson on the committee and will report in the future on the group’s efforts and findings. Sponsorship Committee: Ryan Friscia was named as the spokesperson on the committee and will report in the future on the group’s efforts and findings. Thank You to Steve Tagami of Mustad. Our club members signed a “thank-you” letter that will be given to Steve by Vern Robinson. Congratulations to Jake Drabot for winning the club drawing. Jake took home a nice pair of Bass Pro fishing pliers. Juniors In Attendance: Matthew Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell, Dustin Robinson, Nicholas Baxter, Raymond Bentz, Jake Drabot, Trevor Parker, Coty Atkinson, Billy Easterly, Ryan Friscia, and Mitchell Jones. A motion to close the meeting was made, the motion was seconded and the meeting was adjourned. Meeting adjourned: 8PM. |
