Bass Pro Cook-Out! Yesterday, February 9th and next week February 16th, our Good Ole Boy's Junior Bassmasters have the opportunity to show our appreciation to a special sponsor, Bass Pro for all their assistance, guidance and very generous donations over the past few years. Bass Pro Shop in Auburn, NY have been promoting a special Spring Boat weekend event, including an autograph session with Bucky Dent and graciously invited our GOB junior club to participate and assist them in their min-food court. Our juniors helped by serving complimentary Johnsonville Brats, hot dogs, popcorn and cold beverages to their shopping customers. Thank you Johnsonville for your donation of brats and hot dogs. Above you will see members of our GOB junior club busy preparing trays & food for Bass Pro customers. Bass Pro employees were in charge of the cooking, so thank you to the dedicated people for a great job of "grilling". Our job as juniors were simply to hand out complimentary brats, hot dogs, popcorn, and Coke products, to all the smiling customers visiting the store. One of our "minnows" adjusting the pile of DVD's featuring ESPN/BASS Elite anglers. Some of our juniors anxiously await the opening surge of Bass Pro customers . A GOB Junior-Pro serves up a brat and a drink to a Bass Pro customer . Bass Pro customers lined up for popcorn and were attended to promptly. Our New York Junior bass clubs are a direct extension of our parent senior clubs and of the New York Bass Chapter Federation all of which reside under the national umbrella of BASS. Yes, we all love to go fishing, but belonging to a junior bass club doesn't mean all we do is fish! Our national, state and local club leaders, along-side our parents, teach us about the many facets of life such as operating our own Jr club, learning to work, delegate and share with others, conservation and camaraderie. The important lesson we learned today however, was how to work hand-in-hand with Bass Pro Shop employees as well as the hundreds of Bass Pro customers that stopped by our tables for some food and conversation. So, a "reel" big thank you to Bass Pro Shop General Manager, Mr. Greg Bulkley for allowing us to learn more ... but more importantly, the opportunity to show you our appreciation. We look forward to an annual invitation and a mutually successful "angling experience". Thanks as well to Bass Pro Shop Promotions Manager, George Fiorille for his direction and assistance.
