Minutes of the Meeting

 November 27, 2007

Time:  The Junior Club meeting was opened at 7:04 PM by our Jr. Club president.  He informed us that Mr. Dick Hyde was ill and would not be able to report on the latest information from Bass Pro.

Secretary’s Report: Our Club secretary read the minutes of the October meeting.

Treasure’s Report:  Our Jr. Club Treasurer reported that our Club has a balance of $510.05 in the bank. Raymond Bentz, Matthew Mitchell and Daniel Mitchell added their monies to the can drive fund. Kevin Hamon remains in first place in the can/bottle drive and the drive will continue until called by Youth Director, Mr. Edgarton.

Tournament Director’s Report:  Our Jr. Club tournament director reported on the final tournament of 2007 which was held at Corky Winn’s pond.  Due to the low 30 degree temperatures, there were no fish caught by the minnows or juniors and suggestions were made to try the pond again on a warmer day. Corky Winn’s pond is a safe place for the kids and lots of room; so they will put together a package, times and dates to give it another try.

Webmaster’s Report:  Our Jr. Club webmaster assisted by Connell Raate reported that he will receive the minutes from the secretary and download pictures to the website. The juniors now have their own website and link.

Youth Director’s Report: Jeff Edgarton reported:

The banquet will be held at the Fire Station on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 6PM. Also, WEAR YOUR T-SHIRTS; we will be taking pictures for Strike King to thank them for all the items they gave the club. Each member is asked to bring a dish to pass. Our Jr. Club president will send out a list to keep track of the dishes so that we do not have repeats and enough food for everyone. Vern is in charge of the kitchen/grilling. All will be responsible for the clean up. Remember, leave the place better than the way we found it.

Our Jr. Club youth director, Mr. Edgarton reminded us there will NOT be a December meeting and DUES/$35.00 are to be paid by January meeting or sooner, you may pay your dues at the banquet.

The 2008 Junior Federation Tournament dates are as follows: The Jr. World Championship Event on Saturday & Sunday, July 5th & 6th, The Club Team Championship on Sunday July 20th, and the Jr./Partners event on Sunday August 31st. Locations have not been released as of yet.

Club Logo: A logo was passed around. There will be a committee put together to gather information and show the club the suggestions for a vote.  Mr. Maio asked if the logo could be put into a jpg. file for future uses on brochures. The small logo is about $1.00 and can go as big as $25.00.

Nominations for 2008 Officers:  Mr. Maio asked if there were any officers wanting to step down from their current office position.  All officers wanted to keep there positions.  So anyone who decides to run for an office position; nominations are open to anyone who wants to oppose the current officers. Please let Mr. Maio or Mr. Edgarton know ASAP.
